Finding wonder in your world

Through the power of augmented reality, Wonderlab AR allows you to discover and uncover the scientific phenomena hiding in our real world. Get outside and collect the powers, forces and knowledge you need to bend, morph and distort reality as you know it.

Powered by Niantic Lightship and developed with partner, PRELOADED, Wonderlab AR is a first-of-its-kind experience which extends the Wonderlab gallery beyond the walls of the Science Museum in London. It’s a completely new experience that allows everyone to get hands-on with science.

Inviting everyone around the world to a special occasion

Created as part of the celebrations for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, Historic Royal Palaces transformed the moat around the Tower of London into a new landscape, filled with flowers, in spring 2022. The group then teamed up with BAFTA-winning developer PRELOADED in London to use the power of augmented reality to create a Superbloom wherever you are. This is just one of many examples of how AR can bring a dose of beauty, whimsy, and history into our lives, while helping historic institutions reach completely new audiences.

The official Game of Thrones House of the Dragon app

For the premiere of the HBO Original “House of the Dragon,” HBO Max launched House of the Dragon: DracARys, the official augmented reality app for the series. With the app, fans around the world “hatch” and raise their own virtual dragons at home. Each dragon is unique to its user, and as it grows it will develop its own look and temperament driven by its keeper’s interactions with it.

The HBO Max digital innovation and marketing teams collaborated with The Mill’s team of artists, technologists, and strategists to develop House of the Dragon: DracARys from scratch using the Unity game engine and powered by Niantic’s Lightship technology with immersive sound design by London-based studio, Factory.

Bringing the creative world of manga alive

Manga published by the Japanese company Shueisha has been entertaining comic book fans for nearly 100 years. Their works have inspired countless animated films and television series, and now, with mobile devices and AR, the wonderful characters of “One Piece” and many other manga can exist in the real world as well. We are very excited to see developer studio T&S working with Shueisha’s creative world of manga to help it come alive in AR.
